Lakers v Celts - great game
Wasn't sure what to expect - haven't seen Celtics at the Garden since Pierce and Garnett were traded. Knew both teams had a poor record. But this was a great game, with Celtics leading from A-Z. Still don't like the canned applause prompts, the over-loud sound system and the "dancers" (Red Auerbach must be spinning in his grave when they are on the parquet). But most of the rest of the extra/fill-in stuff (the cheerleaders/gymnasts/acrobats, the young Chinese dancers, and the nod to "heroes among us"), was classy and fun. Certainly more of a kid-friendly atmosphere. Add to that a lovely evening dining and strolling around the North End and it was a fine night. All the better since the Celts ended up winning!
